INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

COSMOLOGY WITH SZ AND X-RAY OBSERVATORIES

2005 March 5 and 6
Sophia University Library Building (#14 in Yotsuya Campus Map)
Room L-812 (8th floor)

Organizers
Naoki Itoh (Sophia University, Chair)
Takaya Ohashi (Tokyo Metropolitan University)
Masato Tsuboi (National Astronomical Observatory)
Shinya Wanajo (Sophia University, Secretary)

Purpose of the Workshop

In recent years remarkable progress has been made in Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect and X-ray observations of galaxy clusters. Many facilities for large-scale Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect surveys of galaxy clusters are completed and ready to start observations. Combined with the X-ray observation of galaxy clusters, these SZ surveys will provide us with unprecedented valuable information regarding the structure formation and the physical nature of the dark energy in the universe. In this workshop, world leaders working at the forefront of this field are invited to give review talks on the current status and future prospect of this field. The organizers sincerely hope this workshop would bring about close international collaboration among the researchers working in this field and contribute to the advancement of this blooming field of cosmology.
